The Apple Watch is designed to be worn for extended periods of time on the wrist, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that in the past, some users have complained of getting rashes. However it seems that over in Denmark, a man by the name of Jørgen Mouritzen claims that the Apple Watch has burnt his wrist and pretty severely at that.
According to the report from Ekstra Bladet, Mouritzen claimed that he had entered his aviation club’s bathroom on the 17th of October when he felt a burning sensation followed by pain shooting up his left wrist along with the smell of burning flesh. Mouritzen claims that the heat source came from the Apple Watch and apparently it was so hot that his right hand suffered minor burns trying to remove it.
He even claims that there was a witness there to corroborate his claims. However according to an investigation conducted by Apple, the company claims that there has not been any evidence to suggest that the Apple Watch was responsible for Mouritzen’s injuries, and that damage suffered to the band was from an external source.
However the company also claims that this is a private matter between the company and Mouritzen so they will not be commenting further on the situation. That being said, the photos of Mouritzen’s injuries are pretty grim so whether or not they were from the Apple Watch, they do look rather serious and painful.
