If you have been using Adobe’s services for a long time, you might be familiar with Adobe Revel. For those who aren’t familiar with Revel, basically it’s a piece of software that allows users to store, share, and manage their digital photos with people that they want to share it with, like friends and family members.
Essentially you could even think of Revel as being Adobe’s take on Flickr, a cloud storage/sharing service. However with so many cloud storage and photo storage options available right now, it is safe to say that the scene is particularly competitive and it looks like Adobe will now be bowing out with Revel.
According to an announcement on the company’s website, they have announced that come February 23 2016, they will be officially closing down the service. Instead, customers who wish to keep using a similar service will be directed to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan. “The response has been overwhelming. Members of all skill levels, from beginner to pro, have told us they think the Creative Cloud Photography plan is the world’s best and most comprehensive photography solution yet. For this reason, we welcome you to move to the Creative Cloud Photography plan. Revel will no longer be available after February 23, 2016.”
Adobe has also posted instructions and an FAQ for its users on how to transition to the new plan, so if you’re still using Revel and want to get a head start before it’s too late, head on over to Adobe’s website for the details.
