The idea of a 4-inch iPhone has been floating about for a while now. It’s an interesting rumor especially when you consider that Apple seems to have moved away from that size with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, followed by this year’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but we guess the rumors continue to persist.
According to the latest one, China’s IHS Technology Research Director Kevin Wang has recently commented on his Weibo account that a 4-inch iPhone could be on its way, and that it will most likely be launched in middle of 2016. Like we said this isn’t the first time that we have heard such rumors.
Just earlier this month there were claims that the 4-inch iPhone is alive and well and that it will feature a metal-clad body. This came from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo so his claims do carry some weight, and the latest comments from Wang just serves to further corroborate the claims.
We’re not sure what a 4-inch iPhone is supposed to serve or where it will sit as far as Apple’s iPhone lineup is concerned. Apple doing budget devices doesn’t really seem like their kind of thing, but what say you? Would a 4-inch iPhone be of interest to you?
