The 3RDI Is A Headband With A Camera

The Google Glass wearable was a good idea, but if there’s one thing we learnt about it it’s that people don’t like to be recorded. We suppose the real difference is that with a phone, it’s more obvious when you’re pointing it at someone and taking a photo or a video, but with Google Glass, unless you knew what you were looking for, you might assume it’s recording all the time.

That being said, it seems that a company by the name of 3RDiTEK has decided that such a device could be useful, and have since come up with a device called the 3RDI. As you can see in the video, the reason for its name is really a play on the word “third eye” as it basically sits in the middle of your forehead, a little above your eyes.

The end result is a tiara-like headband, which at the same time kind of reminds us of Sailor Moon. The device is pretty straightforward. Essentially it is a wearable camera that you can wear around your head. You can use it to capture POV videos, whether you’re vlogging, riding a bike, playing a game of basketball, and so on.

The controls are built into the sides of the headband where tapping will take a photo, and sliding will begin video recording. There’s even a built-in flash unit and microphone. It’s not exactly the most stylish wearable we’ve seen to date, but if you think that you might have a use for it, then head on over to its Indiegogo page for the details on how to pledge your support.
