The yet unreleased Xiaomi Mi 5 has certainly undergone its fair share of scrutiny lately, where it was first mentioned to debut next Monday, the 19th of October, before that rumor was debunked later on. Still, next Monday has not arrived, and we have no idea as to what kind of rabbits Xiaomi will pull out from its hat then, so we shall keep our fingers crossed. What we have now is yet another rumor concerning the Xiaomi Mi 5, where it is touted to arrive with the Snapdragon 820 SoC in tow.
If that is the case, then the Xiaomi Mi 5 would arrive much later on, taking into consideration that the Snapdragon 820 chipset itself could only be made available to manufacturers early next year. Should this rumor be true, then the Mi 5 will not run on the older and slower Snapdragon 810, but at least you know that having the Snapdragon 820 chipset would be a whole lot better, right? Apart from that, it has been whispered that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will also arrive with a fingerprint scanner, but that is nothing to get too excited about these days since just about every single flagship device do come with such a function at the moment.
Until something official from Xiaomi is released or revealed, take everything you hear about the Xiaomi Mi 5 with a grain of salt…or two.
