If you are having trouble trying to connect to Xbox Live to play some of your games, don’t worry it’s not you. According to the status on Microsoft’s Xbox website (via VentureBeat), it shows that Xbox Live’s core services are currently having some issues and that there might be some (or many) gamers who are having difficulty accessing the service.
According to a message posted by Microsoft, “Hey Xbox members, are you having issues signing in to Xbox Live? We are aware of this and are working hard to get it resolved ASAP! Thank you for being patient in the meantime. We’ll post another update when more information becomes available.”
It is unclear as to what the issue might be, but hopefully it isn’t anything too bad. In the meantime social media has been flooded by messages from Xbox gamers who are complaining about the issue. Basically with Xbox Live being down, users can’t access multiplayer games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare or Destiny.
It also serves to highlight the downside of the always-on requirement as there are some single-player games that can’t be launched either. This is due to their need to connect to a third-party server. In the meantime we can only hope that Microsoft gets this resolved ASAP, so until then gamers will just have to remain patient.
