Microsoft Will Change Windows 10 To “Recommended Upgrade” Next Year

Windows 10 is Microsoft’s latest operating system and based on feedback and reviews, it seems that many are much more pleased with this iteration of Windows compared to Windows 8/8.1. This is why it also doesn’t come as a surprise that Microsoft wants to get the operating system into as many hands as possible.

According to Microsoft, come 2016 the company will be changing the status of Windows 10 from being an optional upgrade to one that is recommended. Several weeks ago, several users complained that the optional upgrade boxes were checked by default, thus resulting in the operating system being installed without them realizing.

With the upgrade of its status to recommended, it seems that Microsoft really wants people to upgrade to their latest operating system. We’re not sure if such aggressive tactics will work. There have already been multiple complaints from users about how the upgrade notices have been popping up relentlessly with no way of disabling them, save for third-party solutions.

In any case if you thought Microsoft was aggressive now, things will be ramping up next year. That being said, Windows 10 is a free upgrade within its first year, so perhaps you might want to take advantage of that, least it’s too late and you have to pay for it.
