[CEATEC 2015] When the world of robotics and that of humans meet with one another, you know for sure that there is going to be some sparks flying – some of us might think that there is the very real possibility of a robotic apocalypse happening as artificial intelligence gets a leg up in this world, while other peace loving humans explore the possibility of friendships – or even relationships with digital personas. The Tokimeki sensor (located underneath so that your finger is placed on the sensor when you grip it) certainly brings a new way of interacting with digital personas.
You will first meet a virtual girl on the screen, and as she converses with you (in Japanese, of course), and you converse back, the kind of responses that you give, along with the signals that your body sends out to the sensors will determine the end result.
Notice the window blind on the right side of the virtual girl? Well, once the virtual girl finishes flirting with you, the blind will open up to reveal an actual girl, who holds a conversation with you. The Tokimeki sensor will then determine which persona results in a higher level of palpitations in your hand – and then it will let you know who you have the hots for. Pretty weird stuff, don’t you think so? Fun in essence, but we do not think that it will be practical at all other than at fun fairs or arcades.
