Everyone knows that drinking plenty of water a day to keep yourself hydrated is one of the tenets of a healthy lifestyle. Drinking lots of water is supposed to help with flushing the toxins out of your body, promoting better-looking skin, and some even says it helps with weight loss since drinking water helps make you feel full, thus preventing overeating.
However with our busy lifestyles, sometimes we might forget to drink water until we are parched, which is usually not good. This is where Thermos comes in. The company known for their flasks and bottles has recently introduced the Smart Lid. This is basically a lid designed for Thermos-branded bottles that has built-in sensors that will help keep you hydrated.
The lid will work in conjunction with an accompanying iOS app (Android coming later) and will also work together with wearables from Fitbit. The straw built into the lid can tell when was the last time you took a sip from the bottle, how much water is left, and the temperature of the water. So if you haven’t taken a sip in a while, it can remind you to do so via the app.
The amount of water you drink isn’t based on the belief that you need 8 glasses a day either. Thermos has partnered with EXOS which is a consulting firm that specializes in training and nutrition, so based on your weight, age, activity frequency, its intensity and duration, the app can then figure out how much water you should be drinking, which should differ from another person.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, the Thermos Smart Lid will be available for purchase starting in November where it is priced at $59.99.
