The Star Wars franchise has such a huge, loyal, and dedicated following to it which is why we can’t say we’re surprised that Star Wars Battlefront is garnering a lot of hype and anticipation. In fact according to a recent post by EA, it turns out that the beta of the game was a resounding success with more than 9 million players taking part in it.
In fact if anything, the 9 million players pretty much confirms to EA that their servers are more than capable of handling the influx of players. Recently the beta was extended by a day in order to perform stress tests, which we can only assume went well since we haven’t really heard any complaints so far.
According to EA, “Yesterday, the Star Wars Battlefront beta surpassed a major milestone: more than nine million players logged in and played. That makes this the single largest beta in the history of EA. We could not be happier that so many of you wanted to come in to get a small taste of what our passionate team has been working on.”
The Star Wars Battlefront beta was an open one, meaning that gamers who did not pre-order the game could still participate in it, which probably helped with the numbers overall. Star Wars Battlefront has been pegged for a release for the 17th of November, so hopefully fans out there would have pre-ordered their copy by now.
