A few days ago Google finally released Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the company has already sent out the update for Nexus devices and now the wait begins for the rest of us who have devices made by third-party OEMs. As anyone who has ever used an Android device is well aware new updates tend to arrive quite a bit later after they’ve landed on Nexus, nevertheless OEMs are gradually revealing which of their devices will receive Marshmallow initially as users start to ask when said update will arrive for their device.
Sony has been quick to confirm the list of devices that will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the company obviously can’t confirm when the update will arrive, there are multiple processes through which an Android OS update goes before it’s sent out to end users.
Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 will all receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Sony confirmed today.
The company says that it has been working hard to bring this major Android update to as many of its devices as possible and as quickly as it can. It’s going to share more about the new Sony features and functionality built into these updates, information about release timings will be provided at a later date.
