In terms of being able to play PS3 titles on your Sony PlayStation 4, what Sony has offered is PlayStation Now, which for those unfamiliar basically lets gamers stream older PS3 titles onto the PS4. However if you wanted to play even older titles from the PS1 or the PS2, for the most part that’s not really possible, but Sony could be doing something about it.
In a recent survey sent out to PS4 owners (via NeoGAF), Sony has asked gamers what kind of features do they think that the company should add to the PS4 in the future. There are many options available but as you can see in the image above, there is mention of PS1 and PS2 classics.
We’re not sure what it means by this because earlier, Sony had intended to bring PS1 and PS2 games to the PS4 via PlayStation Now, but the company changed their mind and decided to focus on games from the PS3 instead. However what this survey seems to hint at is that Sony could be looking to bring back those games onto PlayStation Now if there is enough demand for it.
At the same time, this is just a survey and there’s no indication that Sony will include any of the features in the list above, but it’s nice to know that the company is at the very least considering it, but what do you guys think? Should Sony bring PS1 and PS2 classics onto PlayStation Now, especially since Sony had previously shut down the idea of backwards compatibility?
