Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Z3. This is actually the second Tizen smartphone from Samsung, which is a bit odd since we thought that they would have gone with the Samsung Z2 name. That being said, in terms of specs the Samsung Z3 is actually a pretty decent handset for its price.
It will feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display. It will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 8GB of storage expandable via microSD, a 2,600mAh battery, and it will come with the latest version of Tizen on board.
It will be targeted at the Indian market (although its FCC sighting does hint at a potential US release) and will be priced at Rs. 8,490 which is roughly $130 when converted. It isn’t overly expensive and should be more than enough to get the job done. No word on if and when it will arrive stateside, but SamMobile’s sources have told them that a Europe launch is pending.
