Barnes & Noble got out of the business of making its own tablets a long time ago but it found a way to work around the very expensive process of making your own hardware. B&N decided that it will team up with Samsung and use the company’s tablets as a base on which it will offer exclusive software that provides users with an experience they can’t get on any other tablet. That’s how Samsung and B&N got in the business of making tablets together and today they’ve unveiled a new one, it’s the Galaxy Tab E Nook.
Like the previous Nook tablets created by Samsung it features subtle modifications to the overall design, this one has special materials on the back for a safer and more comfortable grip, which makes sense because many users will be reading books on this tablet and they wouldn’t want the it to slip out of their hands.
It runs custom software from Barnes & Noble which provides easy access to millions of books, magazines and entertainment content which includes TV shows and movies. Galaxy Tab E Nook has a 9.6 inch 1,280×800 pixel resolution display, 16GB of onboard storage with microSD card support as well as a 5 megapixel rear camera.
The Galaxy Tab E Nook is available for purchase starting today via www.nook.com and through Barnes & Nobles stores for $249.99.
