According to a trademark filing spotted earlier this year, Samsung is working on several new handsets, one of which is alleged the Samsung Galaxy A9. Given that we have seen Samsung launch several A-series handsets in the past, we suppose it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that a Galaxy A9 could also be in the works.
If you’re curious as to what kind of hardware the Galaxy A9 could be packing under the hood, you might be interested to learn that the specs of the handset might have potentially been leaked thanks to an AnTuTu benchmark. According to the benchmarks, the Galaxy A9 is said to feature a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution.
That’s pretty standard as far as display resolutions are concerned, although with QHD gaining more traction, this could signify that the Galaxy A9 might be a mid-range handset. The benchmarks also reveal a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
The phone also appears to be running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but perhaps we might see it upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow upon its release, which right now is anyone’s guess. Camera configuration and battery size remain a mystery for now as well, but hopefully we will have the official details soon.
