Ah, sibling rivalry. Those of us who happen to grow up in a family with more than a single sibling would know exactly what I am talking about. Well, it seems that the iPhone 6S as well as the iPhone 6S Plus which have been launched on the same day, happen to have their fair share of sibling rivalry, so to speak. In other words, we are talking about sales figures – apparently, the smaller sized iPhone 6S has sold more units than the iPhone 6S Plus, at least according to a research conducted by Localytics.
Just how much better is the sales figure of the iPhone 6S as opposed to the iPhone 6S Plus during the first week of availability? Well, we are looking at having a sales volume which is four times more of that compared to its larger sized sibling, now how about that? Being half as popular as your sibling is bad enough, but four times? Do bear in mind that this is just the first week sales only, so it might not be indicative of how things are at the moment.
It must also be noted that both of these devices happen to make up 1.9% of all Apple smartphones that are being used at the moment, with the iPhone 6S holding a 1.5% share, while the iPhone 6S Plus lags behind at 0.4%. Well, one thing is for sure – the iPhone 6S’ sales in Japan has not been as encouraging as before, so perhaps we are seeing a slowdown in select developed markets.
