This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that according to a report from Re/code, Amazon will soon be introducing their “Pay with Amazon” buttons to third-party party apps, or at least giving developers the ability to add that option to their apps. Prior to this, the button was mostly limited to desktop computers, so to add it to mobile apps means Amazon wants more people to shop while on the go.
This also means that in the future, it is possible for you to shop for certain items and pay for it using your Amazon account. Maybe you have a Prime account and want to make use of that, or maybe there are some loyalty programs that you want to take advantage of, either way the option will soon be there.
However the big question here is how many developers and retailers will actually take advantage of Amazon’s offer? After all transactions tend to be a bit sensitive and secretive amongst retailers, and by implementing the Pay with Amazon button kind of gives Amazon a glimpse into their transactions, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
