It was only a year ago when Microsoft launched its first fitness tracker, called the Band, the wearable device proved to be quite a hit among consumers. Naturally there was a lot of anticipation concerning the second-generation Band which the company recently unveiled, and now that the new one is out the time is right to offer a price cut for the original Band. Not only will this enable the budget conscious to pick up a robust activity tracker but it will also help Microsoft move inventory of this device.
The original Microsoft Band has features like continuous heart rate monitoring, tracking for biking, running, golfing and more, 10 sensors including UV monitor and GPS, a capacitive 1.4 inch TFT display and it works with Windows Phone, Android and iOS devices.
It debuted at $199 but given that the second-generation Microsoft Band is now out the company has decided to cut the price down of its first-generation activity tracker to $129, it’s available at this new price from Amazon and the Microsoft Store.
Those who wouldn’t mind spending a bit more money on the activity tracker can go with the second-generation Band, which has an all new design and several new features that make the wearable device even more capable. The new Band costs $249 and is available for pre-order right now from Microsoft itself.
