If you were one of the early customers who placed their orders for the Nexus 6P, your devices should have begun shipping out. For some, their devices were originally pegged for arrival on the 27-28th of October, but now it has been confirmed by Google and the folks at Phandroid that some shipments have been delayed.
According to an email that Google has been sending out to Nexus 6P customers, “Thank you for buying a Nexus 6P from the Google Store. We’re really excited about this phone and we hope you are too. But we have some not-so-great news: It’s going to take a little longer to get the 6P to you than we would have liked.”
It is unclear as to how many customers have been affected by this delay, but if you have placed your order but have yet to receive the device, perhaps you should check your email for similar notifications. According to Google, the delays have pushed the date of delivery to early-mid November, although we can’t be sure if the dates are the same for everyone.
However the good news is that to make up for the unexpected delay, Google has stated that they will be giving customers a $25 refund as a token of their apology. “As a courtesy, we’ll give you a $25 refund on your purchase, which we’ll process soon after your phone ships.” The company did not detail why the phone was delayed, but either way hopefully that $25 refund will help make up for any inconvenience.
