A couple of days back Apple opened up pre-orders for the new Apple TV, the set-top box that many had been anxiously waiting for. The new set-top box has an updated design, new internals, a completely overhauled user interface and software which brings some features which have never before been available on the Apple TV. Those who’d rather walk into an Apple Store to pick one up should take note of this new report which says that Apple’s retail stores will start selling the new Apple TV from this Friday.

9to5mac reports that the company’s retail stores have started to receive shipments of both the 32GB and 64GB models, overnight the stores will be re-organized so when they open the next day customers are immediately aware that they can now purchase the new Apple TV directly from the store.

Those who would rather purchase the set-top box from a third-party retailer will be happy that multiple retailers have now started taking pre-orders for the Apple TV, such as B&H and Best Buy, and they will soon start shipping out units, possibly in the first week of November.

For $149 and $199 customers get an Apple TV with either 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage, it doesn’t support external memory expansion, aside from that they get a new remote control that’s motion-enabled for gaming, a sleek new user interface, Siri integration and a plethora of new applications which add countless new content sources to Apple TV.
