Netflix Raises Price Of Its Most Popular Streaming Plan To $9.99

If you are living in the US or Canada and have yet to subscribe to Netflix, you might be a bit disappointed to learn that if you were to subscribe now, expect to pay $1 more than everyone else. A report from Bloomberg has revealed that Netflix has increased the price of its most popular streaming plan, which is two HD streams, from $8.99 to $9.99 a month.

Granted this only results in an extra $12 a year, but we’re sure that there are many out there who probably don’t appreciate the price hike all the same. However if there is any good news, it is that Netflix’s single, non-HD plan will remain at $7.99 a month along with its premium plan, which offers four simultaneous streams and access to 4K titles, which will remain at $11.99 a month.

Like we said earlier, this price hike will only affect those living in the US and Canada. Prior to this, Netflix had already increased the price for European subscribers by 10%, so essentially US and Canada would be following in its footsteps, sort of. Netflix has been steadily increasing its prices over the years, something that many customers aren’t too happy about.

However with its huge library and access to great original content, we suppose it’s hard for consumers to turn it down.
