Over time Motorola has developed a reputation for quickly sending out major software updates soon after they’re released by Google for Nexus smartphones and tablets. With Marshmallow being released not too long ago it was naturally expected that Motorola would soon follow suit for its own devices. It has been confirmed that the company’s software engineers have already started testing the Moto X Pure Edition Marshmallow update, the handset is known as the Moto X Style outside the United States.
David Schuster, senior director at Motorola, wrote on his Google+ page that the company’s engineers have already started testing said update for the Moto X Pure Edition. He also rubbished recent rumors that a Marshmallow soak test for this handset had started, “Just want to make it clear that we have NOT started a formal ‘soak test,'” he writes.
Schuster added that Motorola has started testing the Marshmallow update for Moto X Pure Edition on a small scale and that it’s going to conduct these tests for the next few weeks. The feedback it receives after these tests will determine the timing for a proper soak test.
At least he cleared up the misconception surrounding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for one of its recent devices, though that still doesn’t give us any idea of a timeframe in which we can expect Motorola to start rolling out the Marshmallow update.
