Minecraft is a very popular game with a very passionate fan following, many were not convinced by the idea that adding a storyline to the game will do any good, but they held their judgement until Minecraft: Story Mode was actually released. Mojang teamed up with Telltale Games on this project, Telltale already has a lot of experience with creating episodic games series, which gave some fans hope that the developer will do right by Minecraft.
The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode has been released today for Android and iOS, earlier this week the first episode was also released for PlayStation, Xbox and Windows PC via Steam.
The story revolves around protagonist Jesse, players can choose the gender and looks of this character, as it embarks on brave adventures in the Overworld. The first episode is titled The Order of the Stone and it tasks Jesse with saving the world from a monster bent on destroying it.
Telltale has stuck to the method it has adopted with other episodic series like The Walking Dead, players choose their own dialogues from a selection and their choices will then have an impact on how the game progresses.
Minecraft: Story Mode can be purchased for $4.99 per episode starting today from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
