Microsoft Garage creates apps that do a variety of tasks, such as taking notes on a lockscreen to replacing the launcher on your Android smartphone. Arrow is one such app that Microsoft Garage created, it’s a launcher for Android smartphones and till now it has only been available in beta. Today Arrow exits beta and is now available for download via the Google Play Store, making it very easy for anyone to try it out.
Like most third-party launchers Arrow has multiple pages and each page has its own purpose. For example one page shows the smart app list which automatically adapts to the user and prioritizes apps that are used most often, it even has an option panel for taking notes and other widgets.
Other pages show a recent history of actions on the device, such as apps recently launched, files opened, conversations started etc. Swiping up from the button of the display will bring up a customization panel much like the one iOS has, it provides quick access to essential settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, flight mode and controls for the screen brightness.
Since it’s a Microsoft product it does pull in the background automatically from Bing, that’s the only way that it ties with the company’s search engine on its own. Microsoft Arrow is now available as a free download from the Google Play Store.
