LG G2 With Marshmallow Benchmarked (Rumor)

It was not too long ago that we found out that LG of South Korea will be introducing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to both of its once flagship devices, the LG G4 and the LG G3 through references to both devices via its support documents for said smartphones. The question is, what about turning the clock back by another generation? This is what we seem to have picked up – that the well aged LG G2 could be just the handset to pick up the recently announced Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, although the exact date as to when that would happen remains to be seen. After all, the LG G2 is already a couple of years old at this moment in time.

In fact, hiding in the annals of the Geekbench database would be an LG G2 that has been spotted with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running in tow. Surely someone has been up to mischief – in a good way, of course, testing out the update on the device. Should this be the real deal (since benchmark can be faked if one goes through the necessary steps), then the is some light at the end of the tunnel for current LG G2 owners who simply do not want to part with their handset just yet. In fact, LG has yet to make the jump to Android 5.1 for the LG G2 and the LG G3, so maybe this means the LG G2 would be getting a direct ticket to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Update: This benchmark is most probably fake, since the LG G2 does come with a 2.26 GHz Quad-Core processor, whereas in the benchmark, it has been listed at 2.80 GHz. Not only that, the LG G2’s motherboard happens to be the MSM8974 rather than the listed MSM8992. Thanks Adam, for sharing your thoughts with us on this!
