Verizon will soon be announcing the new lineup of Droid handsets, exclusively made for Big Red by Motorola, the event has already been scheduled for October 27th but that won’t stop the leaks from coming in. Promotional material for the Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid Maxx 2 has leaked online, revealing that this year’s flagship Droid handset is going to have a “shatterproof” display.

Leaked material also reveals that the flagship Droid Turbo 2 is going to be compatible with Moto Maker, it’s going to receive a wide variety of customization options through the company’s online studio, this is a first for the Droid lineup.

The “shatterproof” screen mentioned in the promotional market most likely represents a P-OLED display where P stands for “plastics,” the material happens to be more resistant to cracks as opposed to conventional tempered glass.

Droid Maxx 2 has been promised a long battery life as well as colored rear panels which can be easily removed and swapped out for a range of color options such as black, green, blue and red.

A trade-in program may also be announced for both handsets in which customers will be offered up to $300 for their existing phones, with Verizon even allowing people with a phone that has a cracked screen to upgrade to a Droid Turbo 2.

Unfortunately the leaked material doesn’t mention pricing so we might have to wait until October 27th to get that bit of information.
