Japan Display Shows Off 915 PPI 9.6-Inch Display
[CEATEC 2015] Just when you thought that there is no way for one to cram in so many pixels into a single display, along come the folks over at Japan Display, where their hard work has paid off – and they managed come up with a display that measures a mere 9.6” diagonally across, but the amount of pixels packed into a single inch happens to be 915 ppi (pixels per inch). This is phenomenal as much as it is unprecedented, especially after we brought you word a few days ago that Japan Display had managed to cram in 8K resolution into a 17.3” LCD display.
The model that was shown off at CEATEC is not a full production model just yet, as it is currently a prototype model and there is still much work that needs to be done. Of course, when you have a display that small with so many pixels crammed into it, noticing the subtle differences become all the more difficult and challenging. Still, the thought of having a display this small that simply drips with such quality is a dream come true for many – and boy will it be one real expensive dream when it finally enters production! I guess there is no better time than now to start saving up for one of these puppies!
