This is according to a report from MacRumors who reached out to Cue for an update on increasing the limit, in which Cue responded by saying that Apple is definitely working on it and that they are aiming to implement those changes before the end of the year. Interestingly enough despite the feature having yet to go live, there were reports from last month that suggested that some users have had their limits jump from 25,000 to 100,000.
Either that was a glitch in the system or Apple might be slowly rolling out the feature to some users for testing purposes ahead of a mass rollout. Either way if you weren’t one of the lucky ones, we guess you’ll just have to keep waiting. For those who are unfamiliar with the limit, basically iTunes Match lets you match and upload up to 25,000 songs to the cloud.
These songs can then be accessed by any of your iOS devices. While 25,000 songs is a lot to begin with, we suppose there are users out there who might have more songs and would like the freedom of having more space, which is hopefully what this increasing of the limit will do for them.
