You might think that InFocus does deal a whole lot more in other portable devices such as projectors, but they are no slouch either when it comes to the world of smartphones. In fact, today marks the day where InFocus revealed their flagship handset to the market in India, where it was made available through Snapdeal (which seems to be a rather common route that handset manufacturers take in that part of the world), and the asking price of the phone stands at INR 19,999 a pop – which is roughly the equivalent of $300 after conversion, unlocked, of course.
Just what kind of hardware does one end up with at that kind of price point? For starters, the InFocus M812 will feature a 5.5″ 1080p IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 layer of protection, where located right under the aluminum unibody chassis would see a Snapdragon 801 chipset chugging along, accompanied by 3GB of RAM to boot. There is up to 16GB of internal memory, and just in case that is not enough (it never is, trust us), there is a microSD memory card slot to spice things up.
In terms of its camera, the back lies a decent enough 13MP shooter with a f/1.8 aperture and dual-tone flash, while selfie lovers would naturally appreciate the 8MP front-facing camera. Unfortunately, it comes with just Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box alongside the InLife UI running on top. No idea if it will be getting the Marshmallow update anytime soon though.
