Huawei’s New Kirin Chipset To Be Official This November 5th
It does look as though the next flagship Kirin chipset from Huawei will be official this coming 5th of November, where it will be revealed to all and sundry in a special event. In fact, Huawei of China has already started to send out invites for this particular event to various media outlets throughout the world’s second largest economy, and this particular event looks set to concentrate on nothing else but the Kirin chipset. Unfortunately for us, Huawei has made it pretty tough to guess just what model will it be, so we will just have to be patient and keep our fingers crossed that everything will be revealed this 5th of November.
Of course, all of this has not stopped any kind of speculation from going on, as there has been rumors floating around for quite some time already that the next flagship Kirin chipset would in all probability be known as the Kirin 950, which so happened to have been benchmarked earlier in August this year.
Should it be the Kirin 950, then kudos to Huawei for fine tuning it to be ready for mass consumption. Other rumors point to the SoC’s CPU featuring Cortex-A72 cores, Cat.10 LTE connectivity, where it will be manufactured based on TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process. It should also be accompanied by a Mali-T880 GPU, and will be able to support LPDDR4 RAM. Sounds pretty formidable, don’t you think so?
