HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook

It looks like there is plenty of excitement going on before the new Star Wars movie hits the silver screen later this year, and that comes across as no surprise. After all, this is going to be a blockbuster for sure, and the question is, just how large will it be when it arrives? Hence, to see various companies already coming up with tie ins to the movie seem to be the in-thing these days, and HP themselves have decided to jump on board the Star Wars gravy train to reveal the HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook.

This Star Wars Special Edition notebook happens to be a one-of-a-kind PC that delivers an immersive experience for fans who simply cannot wait for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. It will feature a design that is inspired by the Galactic Empire, sporting a battle-worn distressed design while featuring the special Star Wars Aurebesh font wirtten on the hinge. Not only that, fanboys will be pleased to note that there are iconic Storm Troopers on the keyboard deck, while the touchpad itself has been designed to mirror the X-Wing star fighter guidance system. To make it all the more menacing, it features a red backlit keyboard, now how about that?

Enough about looks – how about its substance? Boasting up to 7 hours of battery life, it will not be powered by midichlorians, but will have a choice of 6th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. You can have up to 12GB of RAM, up to 2TB hard drive, an optical drive, dual speakers and audio by Bang & Olufsen Play. As for its 15.6″ display, you can choose an optional Full HD touch-capable unit if you so desire, along with an option of Intel HD graphics 520 and NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphis processor.

It is not all just hardware though, as content includes access to more than 1,100 images that spans across 40 years of Star Wars folklore and history, while the Imperial Cog desktop icon will link it to the Star Wars Command Center that lets you browse through the Star Wars Special Edition’s Themes and Galleries, among others. The asking price of $699.99 for the base model does seem to be decent, just in case you do not have enough Galactic Credits to go around.
