Halo fans have been anxiously waiting for the franchise’s new title to arrive, Halo 5: Guardians is going to be released for Xbox One in the coming week, and now Microsoft has hinted at the possibility of a Halo 5 PC launch. Initially the title will only be available for the current-generation console but Microsoft is not ruling out the possibility that the latest game in the lucrative Halo franchise might make its way to Windows PC at some point in the future.
This major hint was dropped by Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor, he didn’t outright confirm or deny anything, but gave the impression that Microsoft might be open to the idea.
“There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC,” he said, pointing towards the fact that Microsoft has made a huge effort to normalize the Windows experience across all of its different platforms. “Nothing to announce at this point, but it’s absolutely not out of the bounds of reason,” he adds.
It certainly won’t be the first time that a Halo title would be released on PC, Halo and Halo 2 eventually did come to Windows PC after their console launch, but Microsoft decided not to bring the entire collection when it launched Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One last year.
It’s too soon to say when Halo 5: Guardians will be released for PC, for now fans can only hold on to the hope that Microsoft might perhaps release it for that platform as well.
