If you’ve been closely following developments related to the upcoming Halo title then you might be well aware that Halo 5: Guardians features microtransactions. 343 Industries has published a new blog post today in which it details pricing for Halo 5: Guardians microtransactions and explains how the entire system works.
Halo 5: Guardians players will be able to purchase three core Requisition Packs from the REQ Store, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The first one includes Common, single use REQs but is likely to unlock a new permanent REQ if all of them haven’t already been unlocked.
The Silver Requisition Pack includes Common to Rare REQs with an added value of two new permanent REQs if all of them haven’t already been unlocked. With Gold packs players get a lot of REQs that range from Uncommon to Legendary with guaranteed two new permanent REQs if not all have been unlocked.
343 Industries says that it has set pricing to make sure that players can afford at least one REQ Pack “every other game played,” purchasing the packs with in-game currency will require 1250RP, 5000RP and 10000RP for Bronze, Silver and Gold respectively. Those who would rather pay real money for these packs, they will be able to purchase the Silver and Gold packs only for $1.99 and $2.99 a pop respectively.
It also revealed today that just to get players started all of them will receive a starting REQ bundle which includes 54 REQ cards and 7500 REQ Points or RPs when the game is first launched. Halo 5: Guardians is coming to the Xbox One on October 27th.
