The title that Xbox One owners have been anxiously waiting for is nearing release, the excitement increases with each passing day, fans of the Halo franchise will be delighted to know that Halo 5: Guardians has gone gold today. What this means is that major development work has been completed and the game is deemed ready so to speak, discs are being pressed today before they’re packaged and sent out.
These days discs aren’t the only way gamers get their hands on new titles, digital downloads are increasingly becoming popular as well.
Given that the title has gone gold it will be made available for pre-download next week for all those who have pre-ordered the game digitally. They will only be able to download the game ahead of time though, it will remain locked until the official release date, it won’t be possible to play Halo 5: Guardians before that even if it has been downloaded.
Before the release 343 Industries is going to release a new multiplayer content update which is going to “supplement the online multiplayer” with map content for Arena Multiplayer and the 12v12 Warzone.
Those who will pick up the physical disc will need to download this content update on launch day, digital customers just have to make sure that the Power Setting on their console is set to “Instant On” so that the download can automatically begin before October 27th.
