Turns out the speculation was right. According to Josh Holmes who heads up the development of Halo 5 at 343 Industries, he has confirmed that we can expect a day one patch weighing in at around 9GB. This brings the total required space to about 55GB which we guess is pretty close to the 60GB listed on the box.
For those who are purchasing the physical copy of Halo 5, this is a patch you will need to download before you play the game, especially if you’re looking to experience all that the game has to offer, like multiplayer components and map content. As for gamers who purchased the digital copy of the game, we suppose you could pre-load the patch so that on launch day you won’t have to deal with downloading 9GB of data.
If your Xbox One console is running a bit low on space, we guess now would be as good a time as any to start spring cleaning. Halo 5 will be officially released on the 27th of October so it looks like you guys have about a week to get on it.
