A particular UI or design that was initially chosen does not have to be set in stone. This is because there is always the chance that it could be improved upon, and if you think that the Google Play Store could stand to do with some improvements, you’re in luck because Google has teased an upcoming revamp of the Google Play Store.
As you can see in the screenshots above, it looks like a new design will be headed our way as far as the Google Play Store is concerned. The goal here is to provide as much content to the user at a glance, and there are also icons that help users filter out the content that they want, kind of reminding us of the YouTube update for iOS.
There is also a clear look separating the Apps & Games from the Entertainment section, with the former painted in a shade of green, while the other has a more ashen look to it. As you can see, the Entertainment section will now play host to movies & TV, music, books, newssstand, and more.
Unfortunately apart from teasing the upcoming revamp of the Play Store, Google did not state when the update will be pushed out. However we can only assume that with screenshots already being shared on social media that the update should be on its way soon.
