Gigabyte is a company that some of you guys might associate with computers, like laptops or GPUs, but it turns out that the company also makes smartphones. Granted they’re not exactly a brand you would associate with smartphones, but in case you’re in the market for budget smartphones and aren’t too brand conscious, Gigabyte has four new phones for you under its GSmart brand.
Starting with the Gigabyte Classic, this is probably the “best” phone of the lot. It will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display with a Spredtrum chipset under the hood with 1GB of RAM. It will also come with an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 8GB of onboard storage and will support up to 32GB from a microSD.
There is also the Gigabyte Classic Lite. This phone is basically a downgraded version of the Classic with a 5-inch 854×480 display. The processor has been downclocked as well and has had its RAM halved to 512MB. It will also pack a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Third phone of the lot is the Gigabyte Essence. This is essentially the same phone as the Classic Lite, except that instead of a 5-inch display, the Essence will feature a 4.5-inch display, but other than that the specs are more or less identical. Last but not least is the Gigabyte Essence 4.
This is the most affordable phone out of the four. It will feature a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480×800, an oddity these days. It will be powered by a dual-core MediaTek processor with 4GB of onboard storage, a 2MP rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, and a 1,300mAh battery.
The Gigabyte Classic, Classic Lite, Essence, and Essence 4 are priced at €95, €75, €70, and €55 respectively.
