According to market watchers in South Korea, it seems that the Gear S2 is selling about 2,000 units per day on average which apparently makes it double that of the original Gear S. The numbers also goes on to suggest that the 3G-enabled model accounts for 50% of the sales, while the remaining 50% goes to the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic, with the Class reportedly being quite a hit amongst consumers as well.
It’s actually interesting to see the device doing well given that it runs on Tizen, when Google is trying to dominate the smartwatch industry with Android Wear like they did with the mobile market using the Android platform. However given that the wearable scene is still pretty new, a clear leader in wearable platforms has yet to be established.
In the meantime for those of you guys who are living stateside and want to get your hands on the Gear S2, T-Mobile will be carrying the device next month along with Verizon, so you guys can keep an eye out for them via those channels.
