However according to the folks at SamMobile, they have learnt that Samsung could instead launch three variants, with each variant sporting a different chipset from the other. It is widely speculated that the Galaxy S7 could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, although there have been talks that there could also be an Exynos version intended for other markets.
SamMobile’s report has more or less confirmed that. However instead of the Exynos 8-series, one of the versions will be powered by the Exynos 7422 which was meant to debut with the Galaxy Note 5. This handset is said to be targeted towards the Indian market, and given that it isn’t as powerful as the newer chipsets, it could even be sold cheaper and make it more affordable for emerging markets.
However that’s just speculation so take it all with a grain of salt for now. Interestingly enough we have not heard anything about a possible Edge version of the Galaxy S7. Either Samsung has decided to scrap those plans or the rumors have lumped both handsets together, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more info.
