It has been known for some time now that Fossil is working on an Android Wear smartwatch and today the company has finally announced it, it’s part of the new Fossil Q line, the entire range offers multiple connected wearable devices with the Q Founder being the flagship as it’s the Android Wear powered smartwatch.
The new Q lineup also includes the Q Reveler, Q Dreamer and Q Grant. The first two are activity and fitness trackers compatible with Fossil’s iOS and Android apps, they’ll go on sale starting October 25th for $125. Q Grant looks like an ordinary watch but it’s also a fitness tracker that provides more features such as notifications and much more, it also goes on sale October 25th priced at $195.
Fossil Q Founder has a full touchscreen display and is powered by an Intel chipset with Android Wear performing the OS duties. Several models will be available starting at $275, it’s priced competitively against recent Android Wear smartwatches from the likes of Motorola and Huawei.
Today’s news release doesn’t offer much in the way of specifications so we’ll have to wait for that information to see how the Fossil Q Founder stacks up against the pack. Fossil also hasn’t provided a confirmed release date for this wearable device but it does say that the Q Founder will be available for purchase in time for the holiday season.
