With the launch of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple has introduced a feature called 3D Touch which from what we are hearing, is going to be quickly emulated by a bunch of handset OEMs. Basically for those unfamiliar with the technology, 3D Touch is a variant of Force Touch, in which the screen can detect the pressure of your touch to perform different actions.
In fact Apple is making a pretty big deal out of it because it seems that over in their flagship stores in New York and San Franciso, the Cupertino company has introduced what can only be described as Force Touch/3D Touch tables. Basically these are tables in which the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are displayed.
However when the phone’s displays are touched, the table beneath it will display ripples of water, as if to demonstrate the 3D Touch technology. It’s actually pretty cool and from what we can tell in the video above, it responds pretty well. Like we said, the tables only appear to be available in two locations at the moment, but it is possible that Apple could roll it out to more stores in the future.
In the meantime if you’d like to have the feature of 3D Touch without having to buy a new phone, you’re in luck because a jailbreak tweak by the name of Forcy will do pretty much the same thing for your older iPhone.
