The Exynos 8890 chipset will also be known by its codenames M1 or Mongoose, and it boasts the dignity of being the very first Samsung-manufactured chipset that will come with custom CPU cores. Samsung does not look as though they will rely on ARM designs with this model, as it has done in the past where previous Exynos chips were concerned.
In fact, the upcoming Galaxy S7 is said to arrive with not just one or two, but three chipset variations within, and each of these variations will be sold in different markets. With one of those more or less certain to be the Exynos 8890, the other could very well be Qualcomm’s soon-to-arrive Snapdragon 820. All in all, the Galaxy S7 is shaping up to be a formidable device from what we have heard, with rumors of USB Type-C support, having focus on audio quality, and boasting a glass and magnesium alloy build. I suppose we should know more as the Galaxy S7 has been slated for a January 2016 launch.
