In fact the rumors claim that the poaching of employees is so bad that it has apparently affected the development of Tesla’s cars. Now you would think that Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO would be worried, but apparently not. In fact he doesn’t think too much of the hires according to a recent interview with German newspaper Handelsbatt (via Cult of Mac).
According to Musk, he was quoted as saying, “They have hired people we’ve fired. We always jokingly call Apple the ‘Tesla Graveyard.’ If you don’t make it at Tesla, you go work at Apple. I’m not kidding.” However while Musk doesn’t think too much of Apple’s hires, he does applaud Apple’s efforts at branching out to other products.
“It’s good that Apple is moving and investing in this direction. But cars are very complex compared to phones or smartwatches,” Musk said. However this isn’t necessarily a confirmation that Apple is building an electric car, but Musk does seem to be pretty confident that is the case. Either way we have no way of knowing if and when Apple will debut their electric car, so until do take it with a grain of salt.
