Paper is currently in beta and what it does is it acts as a collaborative tool where users can write up documents and share them with other users. Like we said, it seems to want to take Google Docs on which pretty much does the same thing. Paper in its current form features a very minimalist text editor where users can put together a bunch of different document styles, like reports, lists, and so on.
It also comes with an “@” mention feature so that you can tag another user, maybe point out a section in the document for them to check out or edit. Users will be able to drag and drop images, paste YouTube links which will be converted to videos, as well as snippets of code in which it will then be automatically formatted.
As it stands, Dropbox Paper exists only as a web-version for now. However the company did state that they have plans to bring it to mobile which only seems like a natural course of things. If you’d like to check it out, head on over to its website and sign up to be on its waitlist.
