Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Ties For Third Place On DxOMark

When it comes to smartphone cameras, this is an area that Motorola is not exactly known for. This isn’t to say that Motorola’s cameras are bad, it’s just that there are brands out there with much better quality photos. However it seems that with the launch of the Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon, Motorola is changing things up.

According to a review of the phone’s camera on DxOMark, it seems that the handset’s camera is good enough where it managed to edge out the LG G4 from its fourth spot. Prior to this, the LG G4 was ranked fourth on the website with a score of 83. However the Droid Turbo 2, based on DxOMark’s review, scored one point higher at 84.

This resulted in the phone tying with the Nexus 6P which also scored an 84, and also pushed the LG G4 down one spot as far as the ranking are concerned, even though we suppose technically the LG G4 is still “fourth” as the Droid Turbo 2 and Nexus 6P are tied. For those hearing about this for the first time, the Droid Turbo 2 packs a 21MP rear-facing camera.

According to DxOMark, they claim that one of the strong suits of the phone was detail preservation under good lighting conditions, with noise being barely visible. Exposure is said to be good with accurate white balance and a “generally pleasant” color.
