Droid Maxx 2 Is Rebranded Moto X Play

Verizon might have confirmed that they have dropped the Sony Xperia Z4v, but this does not mean that it no longer supports other handsets. For instance, the slew of rumors and leaks concerning the upcoming Droid Maxx 2 has been more or less confirmed that it is actually a rebranded model of the Moto X Play which is making its way to Verizon Wireless.

For those who are still unconvinced, fret not – Google is more than capable of helping. After all, someone from within confirmed the fact that the Droid Maxx 2 is in essence, a Moto X Play. Didn’t the Bard once said, “A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet”?

There was a screenshot of the Google support page that showed off the various kinds of Android devices that have been optimized in order to make use of the Cast Screen feature with the Chromecast. In the second row of the screenshot, it mentions “Droid Maxx 2 (Verizon) or Moto X Play (Rest of World)”, which is more or less a guarantee that this is the very same device, of course. Well, it is a matter of time before the Moto X Play hits the market, so now would be a good time to start saving up for one if you would want to bring one home.
