If you’re a Harry Potter fan without an Apple device then perhaps today’s announcement is going to make you run out and get one, digitally enhanced versions of all seven Harry Potter books have been released today and they’re exclusive to Apple. They will only be available for download via the company’s iBooks Store which works across its desktop and mobile devices. These books feature interactive animations and custom covers as well as annotations written by none other than J.K. Rowling herself.
J.K. Rowling said in a statement that she’s thrilled to see the Harry Potter books so beautifully realized on iBooks for the digital world, adding that “The artwork and animations in these enhanced editions bring the stories alive in a delightful new way.”
The digital versions of these very famous books were previously sold only through the Pottermore Shop, a website that’s dedicated to all things Harry Potter. These “Enhanced Editions” which feature custom covers and interactive animations are available for purchase in English today for $9.99 each, they’re available in 32 countries.
It has been confirmed that German, French and Spanish versions of these books will come out on November 9th, those who want them can pre-order them starting today.
