So far all film-based Resident Evil titles we’ve seen so far are live-action starring Milla Jovovich. However if you’re not a fan of the series, fret not because there are more options headed your way. According to reports, it seems that Capcom will be teaming up with Marza Animation Planet in creating a new Resident Evil movie.
However instead of this being your typical live-action movie, this upcoming flick will be a CG version. If you prefer this style of film for video game movies, then we suppose this is one to look forward to. It will be a feature-film length movie but it has only been pegged for a release in 2017, so we guess fans will have a bit of a wait.
As for the storyline, it is unclear as to what we can expect. The upcoming flick is not the first CG Resident Evil movie, but it will be a complete reboot of the movies so don’t expect it to pick up where we left off. It will be a completely new movie with a story of its own and it is also expected to feature characters from the game such as Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers.
Filmmaker Takashi Shimizu who created Ju-on will be the executive producer of the film, along with Takanori Tsujimoto who will be directing it, and Makoto Fukami who will be writing the script.
