In terms of mirrorless cameras, Canon certainly does not have the same appeal or market share compared other camera makers like Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, and so on. However they have been trying and if the rumors are to be believed, the next mirrorless effort from Canon will be the Canon EOS M10.
Now thanks to the folks at Digicame-Info (via PhotoRumors), the alleged specs of the camera have been revealed along with what appears to be a possible photo of the device. So what can we expect from the EOS M10? For starters, the camera is rumored to feature an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor.
It will sport a 3-inch display and will also feature a hybrid CMOS AF III system with facial recognition and tracking. Under the hood, Canon will use the DIGIC 6 image processing engine. There will be a new lens kit bundled with the camera which includes a 15-45mm IS STM lens.
For those who prefer zoom options, there is a double lens bundle that will come with the 55-200mm IS STM lens. For the most part we can’t say it sounds like a particularly impressive camera. No word on when it will be announced, but it is possible that we might see it at the CP+ show in New York City come 22-24 October, so until then take it with a grain of salt.
