A couple of days ago thanks to a listing on Canon’s website, it seems that the company may have unintentionally announced its new mirrorless camera in the form of the EOS M10 a bit earlier than expected. For those who are curious about the camera in an official capacity, wonder no more.
Canon has officially announced the EOS M10 that will be joining the other EOS M-series of mirrorless cameras. However unlike its siblings, the EOS M10 is meant to be a more compact mirrorless camera and will be more consumer-friendly, meaning that it won’t be as daunting to use compared to other models in the market.
For starters, gone is the fancy grip and the multitude of dials and buttons that might be overwhelming to newbies at the start. Instead Canon has opted for a more simplified look that seems more like a compact camera than a mirrorless. It features a 3-inch touchscreen display and a mode dial at the top that switches between videos, stills, and auto. That’s how simple it got.
In terms of hardware, the Canon EOS M10 will pack an 18MP APS-C sensor, one that is typically found in entry-level DSLRs so you can rest assured that this camera will be able to snap some quality photos. It will also be powered by Canon’s DIGIC 6 processor and will also be able to capture Full HD video at 24/30FPS.
